What a week!

Posted on March 28, 2009

This week was simply amazing!! My best friend Jen, texted me at 3:30am that she had her baby girl! So I took of Monday afternoon and tuesday and drove up to Round Rock to go see her and meet the new bundle of joy. She is so beautiful and tiny!!! I’ve been busy editing photos from the hospital visit and am really excited about taking newborn photos for her! I also got to check out the IKEA store and got some props for newborn sessions. So excited about that! On thursday I got my Real Mom Giveaway bag from Ju Ju Be. I entered a weekly contest and my submission was chosen! They give you a free diaper bag of your choice. I LOVE my JJB bags so many choices! Here are some of the bags I have minus the two black bags :) Really the only bags are the pink bag and the blue/green bag! The other items are just little accessories!

this is the bag that I chose for my free bag:

it is a drip drops beprepared! I LOVE it! I’m going to use it as my hospital bag and it’s also great for two kids and taking long trips!

As if that wasn’t enough to be happy about that same night we opened the mail to find out I had been awarded a $5000 check to put towards my student loans! I’m pretty excited about that!

God has definitely been GOOD to me this week! Hopefully the goodness will continue when I go take my counseling skills test!!!! ;)

Project Paint!

Posted on March 10, 2009

wow it’s been a long time! we’ve been busy with work and school and all that other good stuff! This week I am thankfully on SPRING BREAK!!! yay! It’s also Andrew’s first week out of day care until August. I always forget how tired he can make me especially now being pregnant! This week my wonderful mom and grandma are helping me paint Andrew and Lexi’s rooms :) It’s very hard to be decisive when you are pregnant and tackling two rooms makes it harder! Today we got Andrew’s room painted it just needs some touch ups and decorations! We are going with a transportation/construction theme. Andrew LOVES “big trucks” The blue started off as a navy blue but my pregnant mind didn’t think it would work so I had to have them lighten the blue. Originally it was going to have a brown accent wall but that didn’t work out so now I am stuck with a 30 dollar gallon of brown paint! Anyone need any brown??? :) Here are some photos!

Andrew wanted to help! Here he is sporting one of daddy’s white t-shirts and priming the walls… bye bye baby room!

and here is the paint color we went with it is called Undecided Pregnant Blues ;) originally Boat Blue but modified!

we were debating on putting a stripe but after the long day of my indecisiveness I think it shall just be a solid color room! We are going to get construction signs to put up on the wall. It’s still a work in progress but the hard part is FINISHED!! now if only I could decide what to do with Lexi’s room!! another day… Hope you all have a wonderful week!

getting bigger and bigger!

Posted on February 11, 2009

So little Lexi shall we call her for now is getting quite big. Mommy is pretty uncomfortable already. She already likes to be right under my rib cage and enjoys playing four corners in my tummy. She rolls from one corner to the next and so on all throughout the day. She’s not much of a kicker but she sure does roll around! Her big brother already seems to love her lots. He likes to look at the ultrasound photo on my ipod and says that’s baby, mommy’s baby. :) I’ll try and post some photos of Andrew after V-day I’m hoping he’ll go for a mini photo shoot but we shall see. We’ve both had some not so fun allergies but to hold you over… here is a photo of my pretty pink snapdragon that somehow has survived the past three years. I’m a leave it to God gardner and rely on the rain to water my roses and other various plants. I actually watered the roses this weekend and sure enough it rained that night! My pink snapdragon always makes me smile when it blooms simply because it’s still alive and kicking!

It's a….

GIRL!!! we are soooo excited that we will be welcoming a little girl to our family! I had my big ultrasound and it was so amazing to see her! She slept through pretty much the whole ultrasound but was kind enough to let us know her gender! Everything looks great and I’m pretty sure she has Andrew’s nose! The tech made several comments on how adorable her nose is! We are so excited to meet her! Yesterday I had to of course go buy some pink clothes and now its time to go through Andrew’s clothes and sort out what to keep and what to give. Hopefully by the time she is born we will have a name for her!

Here is her big brother! He is serious about yogurt…

ok not THAT serious!

and here is his little sister…

Still here!

sorry it has been such a long LONG time since I have posted. Baby #2 has really been something! I’ve finally gotten past the constant nausea and tiredness and am starting to enjoy being pregnant. I think I can even feel the baby kicking but it is so soft its hard to tell! We had a great break from school. Jared went to visit family in Minnesota and Andrew and I stayed home and relaxed and spent christmas with my family. This was my first week back at school and boy am I glad it’s the weekend!!! I go back to grad school next week so we shall see how that goes :) Andrew is talking up a storm these days and he loves to tell mommy no! He also is an aspiring photographer. He loves to take pictures! I was  brave and let him have a go with mommy’s camera and he did great! Here are his first shots!

Rusty

Posted on November 30, 2008

On Saturday, I lost a close buddy. Rusty our family dog that we got when I was 14 passed away at the age of 11 years. We knew he hadn’t been himself for awhile but we didn’t think he would leave us this soon. Rusty was very loving so much that you could see his heart (he had a heart shaped spot on him). Rusty was like a puppy up until his last day, always chasing the squirrels in the backyard. I don’t think he knew how to act like an old dog because he never did. I believe that he’s in heaven now chasing squirrels and meeting up with some old pals. He is greatly missed. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. The following photos were taken on Thanksgiving day. He was quite happy that day eating turkey and searching for leftovers. We will always love and miss you Rusty.

I love the photos in black and white but here’s one in color so you can see his pretty red hair hence his name Rusty.

My little cowboy

Thanksgiving was super yummy….especially the not good for you potatoes. It was great seeing the family and eating all the yummy food. Andrew had a blast playing with his choo choos. He’s getting them for christmas but we let him play with them yesterday to keep him occupied.

another thing that is always a tradition is watching the Cowboys game on thanksgiving. That and the Aggies game but yeah let’s not go there! Andrew got a new cowboys hoodie and he let me take some photos of him in it.

I just love him so much!

2 more days…

Posted on November 25, 2008

thanksgiving is almost here and I’m looking forward to it. I have so much to be thankful for. A wonderful, supportive family, great friends, a home, a job, the list goes on. On Monday I went to the dr for a follow up appointment to confirm the pregnancy. I had one at 5 weeks but baby was too small to measure. So Monday there I was anxious as could be and there he/she was on the screen with their heart beating away. Andrew looked at the screen with a very concerned face almost as if he was realizing he wasn’t going to be the only baby anymore. As we left the dr’s office we passed the ultrasound with the image of baby#2 still up and Andrew waved and said “bye baby” as if to say bye, please stay here. So here is baby #2 my little blob :)

fast forward to tonight and my little boy is saying the cutest things. I had made a bath for him but mr. impatient decided to make his own… he climbed into the bathroom sink and when I walked in he told me “I made a bath” and when he was ready to get out of the real bath tub he told me “I’m cold I want out” it made me realize how much he is growing up, makes me happy and sad. I promise I’ll post some pics of Andrew tomorrow I took some of him today in his cowboys hoodie that his grandma and grandpa got him. He loves it!

Welcome!!!

So, this is the new blog and hopefully I will be good about posting regularly! Lets see, what’s new? This week is going to be Thanksgiving and I am sooo excited about that! I can’t wait to eat to my heart’s content :) This week is also Jared’s birthday, the big 26. He’s getting old but I still love him (well most of the time) Andrew is talking up a storm these days. I’m so proud of him! He’s becoming such a big boy and it’s nice having little conversations with him. He also will smile when I hold the camera up. Finally! He says “cheese!” and smiles real big. Yay!
